Chamber of Commerce brings back Safe Treats for Kids and introduces Scarecrow Stroll
Halloween Day Safe Treats for Kids Event
On Halloween, Oct. 31, from 3 to 6 p.m., the annual Siesta Key Safe Treats for Kids event will return.
Last year’s celebration was canceled as Siesta Key recovered from hurricanes. For 2025, organizers expect the afternoon event to be bigger, spookier and just as much fun as any trick-or-treater could want.
Sponsored by the Siesta Key Chamber of Commerce, the Safe Treats event gives children and their families the chance to trick-or-treat at participating businesses. Look for festive balloons and decorations at storefronts welcoming costumed witches, ghosts and goblins.
Businesses interested in joining this year’s event can register with the Siesta Key Chamber of Commerce at mysiestakeychamber.com. Trick-or-treaters do not need to register in advance. Kids are urged to bring a bag for their candy haul. More details are available on the chamber’s Facebook page.
Siesta Key’s Inaugural Scarecrow Stroll
This year, Halloween fun on Siesta Key expands beyond one day. From Oct. 1-31, the island will host its first-ever Scarecrow Stroll.
Participating businesses will line storefronts and walkways with homemade scarecrows to bring a festive, spooky spirit to the island. Visitors are invited to walk, bike or drive the Stroll and cast a vote for their favorite display on the chamber’s Facebook page. The winning scarecrow will be announced Nov. 1.

UTC’s Annual Pumpkin Patch
Hi there, pumpkin. UTC’s annual Pumpkin Patch is returning to The Green this fall. From October 7 to 26, find your perfect pick of the patch while supporting a worthy cause. Every pumpkin purchase benefits Nate’s Honor Animal Rescue Center, a nonprofit organization in Lakewood Ranch that provides shelter for homeless and at-risk dogs and cats while they wait to be adopted.

CRYSTAL CLASSIC 2025
The Siesta Key Crystal Classic International Sand Sculpting Festival is a four-day event held on the sand at Siesta Beach.
At this four-day Festival 24 artists converge on Siesta Key to compete in an amazing Master Sand Sculpting competition.
In the ticketed area the sand sculptors create a large community carve, eight solo sculptures, and eight team sculptures. On Saturday evening the Festival's ticketed area is open until 9pm so attendees can enjoy the sculptures under colored lights. Crystal Classic is a judged competition and the winners are revealed Sunday afternoon.
In addition to the judged sand sculptures, attractions inside the ticketed area include sand sculpting demonstrations, live music, and an amateur sculpting competition. Outside the ticketed area attendees can stroll Vendor Village and enjoy food trailers 10am to 5pm each day.
